Crissorama Expands to Europe With a New Base in Barcelona
Crissorama officially enters a new chapter with the establishment of a European base in Barcelona, Spain, expanding the studio’s presence beyond Costa Rica while continuing full operations in Central and North America.
This expansion is not a rebrand or a change in direction. It is the result of years of working with couples planning destination weddings across borders, time zones, and cultures, and responding to a growing demand for consistent, experience-driven wedding photography in Europe.
From Costa Rica to Europe, Built on Real Experience
Crissorama was shaped in Costa Rica, a country that demands adaptability, patience, and deep local knowledge from anyone documenting weddings professionally. Rainforest weather, changing light, long travel days, and remote locations are part of the job.
That environment formed the studio’s way of working. Calm under pressure. Focused on people rather than performances. Prepared for the unexpected.
Barcelona has long been part of that story. For founder Christopher Alga, it is both a personal and creative base, making it the natural place to anchor Crissorama’s European operations. Establishing a base there allows the studio to work from within Europe rather than arriving as a temporary destination vendor.
What This Expansion Means for Couples
With a base in Barcelona, Crissorama is now available for weddings across:
-
Spain, including Barcelona, Mallorca, Málaga, and the Costa Brava
-
Southern and Western Europe, including France, Italy, and Portugal
-
Multi-day destination weddings involving travel across regions
-
Cross-continental celebrations connecting Europe and Costa Rica
Couples benefit from working with a photographer who understands destination logistics on a practical level. This includes realistic timelines, travel planning, and adapting the photographic approach to local light, culture, and rhythm.
A Thank You to Couples Booking During This Transition
Growth comes with challenges, and many couples have trusted Crissorama during uncertain periods, postponements, and changes over the years.
To acknowledge that trust, the studio is extending preferred booking conditions to couples planning weddings in 2026 and 2027 who book during this transition period.
This is offered as a gesture of appreciation to couples who choose to support the studio at an important moment in its evolution. Availability under these conditions is limited and based on date and location.
Continuing Work in Costa Rica
The expansion to Europe does not replace Costa Rica.
Crissorama continues to document weddings across Guanacaste, La Fortuna, Manuel Antonio, Monteverde, Arenal, and other regions that have defined the studio’s identity from the beginning.
Both bases operate with the same philosophy, visual language, and level of care.
