Costa Rica Taxes & Additional Costs

These costs do not automatically get added to your wedding budget. Instead, use this section to check whether they are already included in your vendor quotes.

Important: Some venues and vendors quote prices before taxes or service charges, while others provide a final price that already includes them. Always check what is included before adding anything to your budget.
IVA Tax
Costa Rica's 13% IVA may already be included in some quotes.
Service Charge
Some venues and catering companies add a service charge.
Vendor Travel & Lodging
Particularly important for remote destinations.
Additional costs currently added to your budget $0
Example: If a photographer quotes you $4,500 as their final price and confirms that applicable taxes are already included, you do not need to add another 13% IVA on top of that $4,500.

You’ve got the budget. Now let’s make sure the memories are covered.

Your flowers will fade, dinner will be eaten, and the party will eventually end. Your photographs are what bring you back to the people, the place, and how it all felt.

If you’re planning a Costa Rica wedding and want photography that feels natural, thoughtful and true to the day rather than a collection of forced poses, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

As a bonus for couples who book their wedding photography with me, I’ll include a complimentary pre- or post-wedding mini session in Costa Rica. It can be a relaxed adventure, a beach session, or simply time together somewhere meaningful, without the pressure of the wedding day.

Tell me about your wedding and let’s see what makes sense for you.

Highly recommend Crissorama! He went above and beyond while helping to plan my surprise proposal and did an amazing job capturing the moment. I was a first time tourist to Costa Rica, so he suggested multiple scenic locations/hidden gems and even called several on my behalf to make sure all my questions were answered. He was incredibly responsive, flexible, and truly talented with a camera. Thanks Christopher!
