How is a Beach Elopement?

When Amy and Rich welcomed me with beers, I knew this day would be special. They chose Avellanas Beach, where their love story began. Its beauty, vibrant sunsets, and tranquil vibe made it the perfect place to say their vows.

Despite Amy’s career as a successful New York wedding planner, the day unfolded with ease. They prioritized spontaneity and connection over perfection. Their laid-back attitude made the experience even more unforgettable.

Capturing the Moment of the beach elopement

Instead of traditional preparations, we relaxed at Lola’s, soaking in the carefree beach atmosphere. When the sun began to set, we walked to the famous boardwalk. The soft golden light and the rhythmic waves created a magical scene.
Amy and Rich exchanged vows with the ocean as their witness. The vibrant colors of the sea and sky added a stunning backdrop. Their heartfelt words blended with the soothing sound of waves, creating a serene, unforgettable moment.

As the sun dipped low, casting a golden hue across the beach, we made our way to the famous boardwalk. The perfect backdrop for capturing this couple’s spontaneity and love. It was a magical moment, with the ocean waves whispering sweet nothings in the background.

Elopement weddings redefine tradition

Elopements redefine tradition, embracing a more intimate and personal approach to weddings. In Costa Rica, this journey is elevated by the breathtaking landscapes. From the lush rainforests to the stunning coastline. Including renowned spots like Nosara, Tamarindo, and Playa Conchal. Every elopement is a unique story waiting to be told, a narrative woven with love, adventure, and authenticity.

As a Costa Rica wedding photographer, I am privileged to capture these raw moments of emotion and genuine connection. There’s something truly special about witnessing couples committing to each other. Amidst nature’s grandeur, far from the noise of the world. Whether it’s exchanging vows at sunset on a secluded beach or hiking to a hidden waterfall. Costa Rica offers the perfect canvas for unforgettable wedding photography.

The ceremony was everything they dreamed of. The light couldn’t have been better, with the ocean’s vibrant blues and greens painting a stunning backdrop. The sound of the waves, combined with the heartfelt words exchanged between the couple, created a serene atmosphere that was simply perfect.

After the ceremony, the couple played rock-paper-scissors to decide whether to jump into the ocean. They couldn’t resist the call of the waves. Reliving their early adventures, they ran into the water, their laughter filling the air.
These moments captured the essence of elopement photography, raw, joyful, and deeply personal. Every candid shot reflected their love and connection.

Being an elopement photographer here isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about capturing the spirit of love in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It’s about sharing in moments that celebrate intimacy and individuality, where every glance and every touch tells a story. For me, there’s no greater joy than immortalizing these memories through my lens, ensuring that couples can look back on their special day with fondness and joy.

Whether you’re considering an intimate beach wedding in Guanacaste, a breathtaking ceremony at Arenal Volcano, or a romantic elopement in Uvita, the possibilities are endless. I invite you to explore the adventure that awaits in Costa Rica, where every sunset is a promise and every moment is a treasure.

Family Photography Checklist for Weddings

Family Photography Checklist for Weddings

Family Photography Checklist for Weddings. One thing I hear repeatedly from couples is that family photos can easily get missed or mismanaged during a busy wedding day in Costa Rica. One groom told me he wished he had allocated a few extra minutes to photograph everyone properly, he missed shots with relatives he rarely sees.

As a Costa Rica photographer, I’ve learned that clear planning is everything. Creating a checklist of must-have family shots ensures you don’t lose precious moments. I always advise couples to prioritize the groups that matter most and communicate the plan to family members in advance.

Having this structure makes the photography session smoother and more relaxed, and allows the couple to enjoy those special moments without stress.

Welcome Events for Destination Wedding Guests

Welcome Events for Destination Wedding Guests

Welcome Events for Destination Wedding Guests. Over the years, I’ve noticed that couples who plan small welcome events before the wedding in Costa Rica get a smoother, more connected celebration. One bride told me she hosted a casual beach cocktail for arriving guests, which immediately broke the ice and allowed everyone to meet before the big day.

As a Costa Rica photographer, I’ve captured moments from these welcome events that are just as heartfelt and candid as the ceremony itself. Guests feel included, relaxed, and part of something special, which makes the wedding day itself flow more naturally.

My advice? Even a simple welcome gathering, whether it’s drinks, a brunch, or a short excursion, sets the tone for the wedding weekend. It helps guests bond and creates photos and memories that will last a lifetime.

Why Destination Weddings Are a Guest Experience, Not Just a Ceremony

Why Destination Weddings Are a Guest Experience, Not Just a Ceremony

Why Destination Weddings Are a Guest Experience, Not Just a Ceremony. I often hear from couples and vendor colleagues that the true magic of a destination wedding is the experience, not just the ceremony. One couple told me that their guests raved about the weekend-long activities, excursions, and shared moments more than the ceremony itself.

As a Costa Rica photographer, capturing these moments is some of my favorite work. Destination weddings give couples and guests a chance to bond, explore, and create lasting memories together. When planning, think beyond the day of the wedding: welcome dinners, group activities, and casual mingling opportunities can make the celebration unforgettable.

From my perspective, the best destination weddings in Costa Rica are designed for shared experiences. Guests leave with stories, photos, and emotions that extend far beyond a single day.

Curious about how to design a destination wedding weekend that guests will rave about? Send me an email to info@crissorama.com, and I’ll personally share my guide with tips and ideas.

Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas Couples Actually Loved

Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas Couples Actually Loved

Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas Couples Actually Loved. Over the years, I’ve worked with couples who wanted their Costa Rica wedding to feel authentic, rather than following every traditional rule. One couple told me they served tacos instead of a formal dinner and embraced a casual vibe. Guests were surprised but thrilled, and the energy of the day reflected the couple’s personalities perfectly.

As a Costa Rica photographer, I’ve noticed that when couples prioritize their vision over tradition, the photos feel more alive and natural. Guests respond to the authenticity, and everyone enjoys a more relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great reminder that weddings are about the couple, not following a checklist.

My advice? Think about what makes you and your partner unique and integrate those touches. Whether it’s a favorite food, a meaningful ritual, or just a laid-back dress code, those personal elements will make your wedding unforgettable.
