If you’re dreaming of proposing at Danta Waterfall, here’s how the experience usually works.

I always recommend starting with your photographer before making plans. Together we can choose the best location, ideal timing, and create a proposal that feels completely natural.

2. Reserve access to Arenal Observatory Lodge

Even if you aren’t staying overnight, you can visit the property with a day pass, which gives access to the trails and Danta Waterfall. This makes it a great option for travelers staying elsewhere in La Fortuna.

3. Choose the best time

Early morning and late afternoon usually provide the softest light while avoiding the busiest hours on the trails.

4. Keep the surprise believable

The easiest surprise proposals feel like a normal hike or waterfall visit. I’ll guide you beforehand so everything unfolds naturally without raising suspicion.

5. Celebrate afterwards

Many couples continue exploring the lodge, enjoy lunch with views of Arenal Volcano, or head into La Fortuna for a relaxing dinner after the proposal.
