Epic Costa Rica Wedding in November: A great Photographer’s guide

November: A Transition to Sunshine and Celebration

November marks the transition from the rainy season to the dry season in Costa Rica, offering a welcome mix of pleasant weather and fewer tourists. As the rains begin to subside, the landscapes remain lush and vibrant, creating a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

Weather Through My Lens

In November, Costa Rica experiences a shift in weather patterns. The rain begins to decrease, especially towards the end of the month. You can expect warm, sunny mornings with occasional afternoon showers, which become less frequent as the month progresses. Temperatures typically range from 72°F to 85°F (22°C to 29°C). The Pacific Coast begins to see more consistent sunshine, while the Central Valley and highlands remain cooler and more temperate. According to 2024 forecasts, conditions are expected to be less rainy than normal in the Caribbean and Northeast Zone, and more rainy in the other regions.

Photographer’s Tip:The changing light in November can be beautiful, with a mix of sunshine and dramatic clouds. Be prepared to adapt to the weather and take advantage of the best conditions. The lush landscapes from the rainy season provide stunning backdrops for photos.

    Planning Considerations

Based on my experience with November weddings:

    • Possible Showers: Although the rain decreases, brief showers can still occur, especially in the afternoons, particularly at the beginning of the month. Having a backup plan is still a good idea.
    • Humidity: Humidity is still present, especially in coastal areas, so choose lightweight fabrics.

    Guest Experience

From feedback I’ve received from wedding guests:

    • Guests can enjoy a mix of outdoor activities and relaxation.
    • The weather is generally comfortable for exploring Costa Rica’s natural beauty.

    • Be flexible and take advantage of breaks in the weather.
    • Capture the vibrant greens and the increasing sunshine.
